Transformation of the Day: Marishia lost 38 pounds by prioritizing healthy food and exercise. She wanted to feel comfortable in her skin again and have fewer flare-ups from the weight on her joints.



What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
 I’ve lost 35+ pounds within the last year after going through fertility treatments. My motivation was being able to be comfortable in my own skin again. I must admit that my self-esteem was low. I also started experiencing some joint flare-ups due to my body trying to accommodate my weight.

When I really wanted to give up, I would look at my baby. I had to keep it going to show him consistency in showing up for myself and loving myself more so I could be a better mom.




How did you change your eating habits?
I started to supplement all the junk food and fast foods for meal replacements and healthier food options. I cut out sugary drinks (like the vanilla lattes I’d have every day) and sodas. I began using Herbalife products. I started on a trial pack and advanced to a basic weight loss program. 

What did your workout routine consist of?
In the beginning, I mostly did light cardio due to my 3rd shift job working security. However, once I left that job, I started doing my cyclic workouts, like moderate 15-minute cardio sessions and exercises that target specific areas of the body. 

How often did you work out?
I worked out three times per week.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 191 pounds, and I currently weigh 153 pounds. 

What is your height?
I’m 5’1″.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in March 2021.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I have not had any surgeries. 

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned that getting healthy completely shifted my mindset. In addition, it made me more consistent in other aspects of my life. 

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
START, and if you stumble, START OVER! DON’T GIVE UP!!
