Christopher Meloni Workout Routine: Train Legs and Abs like Detective Stabler!

Christopher Meloni took to the weights to get JACKED to come back as Detective Elliot Stabler.

After Meloni took a break as Stabler in 2011, leaving Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, he went onto some roles like Man of Steel, Underground, Snatched, Happy!, Harley Quinn, and more – but now he’s back as Stabler in Law & Order: Organized Crime.

And, that’s specifically what Meloni decided to get BIG for.

In an interview for Men’s Health he states:

“When I tasked Matt with getting me big, for specifically Law and Order: Organized Crime, he then said ‘Well, okay we gotta start doing a lot more compound movements”, so we do a lot of deadlifts, a lot of squats – and the squats, I’m ashamed to say are kind of new to me. I’ve been working out many years, and I always shied away. I usually did the sleds, everything but squats. And the reason why is they’re really tough. I’m so glad Matt has really forced me into them and they’ve paid dividends as far as me being reconnected to my physicalness and the stuff that I need to do on the show.”

The workout Meloni and his trainer Matt then take us through is what they label as a glute and abs workout, but they do have some lat pulldowns in there are well.

There is a method to the madness, though – as they work through into hamstring walkouts, good mornings and even kettlebell pullovers.

Don’t worry, though, I break down the entire workout with sets and reps below.

The internet has made Meloni’s glutes slightly famous now, on par with Chris Evan’s AKA America’s a*s – so it’s only fitting they gave us a glute workout to try out.

As always, if you do give it a shot, let me know how it went in the comment section below!
